#50pics

so last week i read this blog post from chase jarvis. i saw something on there where he challenged photographers to try and take 100 unique pictures in one day (meaning, not 100 pics of the same lamp). i was in portland with brent, jenni and brian at the time, so i thought it’d be fun to try it myself with my dslr and challenge brent to do it (take 100 pics) with his iphone. he did.

fast forward a couple days, and tam starts telling me she was jealous, and wants to try it. it was thursday night, so i challenged her to take 100 pics with her iphone on friday, and i decided to put it out on twitter and see if anyone else wanted to participate. including myself and the entire hodge lodge, over thirty people gave it a shot, and i think about five people were successful. i was blown away that so many people wanted to give it a shot, and even though we all lost some twitter followers for all the twitpics, it was a fun day and interesting glimpse into peoples lives.

however, some adjustments have to be made. we’re going to drop it down to 50 pics, and i would strongly suggest you do NOT twitpic each and every one.

so here’s the plan. the new hashtag is #50pics. if you’re using an iphone or a smartphone (feel free to use whatever camera you want, but i think it’s more fun to use a cellphone for this), i would suggest you just upload directly to flickr (tag them #50pics so we can all check ‘em out later). you can set up a free account, and get an email where you can send pics to directly. and then, whenever you get some time, go ahead and blog all the pictures for us all to see. personally, i am going to twitpic no more than ten of my favorite pics i’ve taken throughout the day.

so, lets do it again friday… who’s in?
