…casual dress friday

Today I introduce you to the newest part of the blog. On Fridays I will be here to update on the music I’ve been listening to, the TV I watched, books I’ve read, the movies I’ve seen, or the sports I’ve enjoyed in the last week. Without further ado…

Music
This week, I reaffirmed my love affair with Metallica. I imported all my old albums, that for whatever reason I hadn’t done yet, and have been rocking out, hard, to Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, St. Anger, and the Live 3 Album set pretty non-stop. Have also had the usual dose of Future of Forestry, and Lala sent me the Lisa Loeb Best Of albums this week, and that was in the early week rotation (well before I went on my Metallica kick).

Television
I missed a lot of my normal shows this week. Missed Jericho, Lost, and most of The Office. I plan on spending today catching up on those online. The world finally got right again though, and America sent Sanjaya packing. Really, this week my tv has been pretty much glued on CNN, specifically Anderson Cooper 360 and Larry King.

Books

I finally picked Soul Cravings back up. This is such a great book, I’m just bad at finishing books. I come out of the gate with them like a bat out of hell, but jeeze… got to work on my follow-up. Especially since my special order of The Blogging Church finally came in at the bookstore. I think Tough Choices might just have to sit on the shelf for a while

Movies
None this week, but since this is my first post like this, I feel as if it’s ok to cheat and talk about the fact that I saw Borat last week. Freakin’ hilarious. Oh-so-wrong, but freakin’ hilarious!

Sports
Pistons have locked up number one seed, and look to sweep Orlando (just like they did in the regular season) in their first round of the playoffs. I have a hard time looking at any other team in the Eastern Conference this year and believing one of them can beat the Pistons in a best-of seven. The Pistons, in all likelihood, should be back in the Finals this year. Dallas probably looks all around the best out West, but I don’t think you can ever count out Kobe’s one-man heroics. — Lions are only a week away from ruining the career of another highly-regarded first round draft pick… joy.
