i struggled with whether or not i should post this on my blog, as it is the second “questionable” content post in one day, but i really found it to be quite incredible.
“‘I have 200 orgasms every day.’Sarah, 24, suffers from Permanent Sexual Arousal Syndrome (PSAS), which increases blood flow to the sex organs.”
yeah, you know you want to read more. don’t worry, it’s not playboy magazine or something.
“…it’s by far the best operating system ever written for the vast majority of consumers, with dozens of new features that have real practical value—like truly automated backups, preview images in folders, and notes and to-do lists integrated into the mail program.”
the reviews are starting to flood in. I have yet to see a negative one, but I also haven’t seen one so glowing as the one the above quote came from. written by edward mendelson of pc mag (yes, PC magazine), this review goes on to state that now would be a good time to make the switch from pc’s to mac’s.
i’ve been saying it for months now to anyone who will listen, especially my parents. unfortunately a lot of people have a fear of change it seems. believe me, i used to be the biggest pc-freak in the world. i used to make fun of mac’s. but then i was forced to try one, and i’ll never buy another pc again. even if i didn’t have to do video editing and design work (final cut pro is heads and tails above any other video editing software suite), i’d still choose a mac just for day to day computing.
It’s a sad day. I just found out Robert Jordan, the author of The Wheel of Time fantasy series of books died today of a blood disorder.
I picked up the first book in the series, Eye of the World, way back in high school, sophomore year to be exact, and didn’t put them down until sometime senior year when I had read all nine books in the series released up until that point. No joke, I give these books at least a small amount of credit for me doing so poorly in high school, because all I did was read them, when I should have been doing homework, or reading text books. I have so many memories attached to these books, it’s crazy.
I read The Lord of the Rings series in junior high, and thought they were great. I loved the movies, but I’m telling you, Robert Jordan took the genre that Tolkien helped to invent, to a level that even Tolkien couldn’t have imagined. For any of you that are fans of Tolkien’s work, I cannot express enough how much you should pick up the Wheel of Time series.
So, in a weird way, I’m really sad. These books played such a huge role in my life… it can’t be understated. I’m sad because the author was such a huge talent, I’m sad because the man wrote books that will always have major memories in my life attached to them, and I’m sad because the series will never come to the conclusion the author may have intended. The 11th book of the series was released in 2005, and in an interview with USA Today in 2006, Jordan stated that the series would conclude with the release of the 13th book… now that will never come to be, at least not by the original author.
Robert Jordan, one of my favorite all time authors, and in my humble belief the best fantasy author of all-time… may you rest in peace.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… and again… and again…
…worst. president. ever.
I really, don’t have words anymore. Can anyone explain to me how Paris Hilton served more time than a man who leaked crucial national security information? How does one president (oh yes, the un-capitalizing is on purpose, I voted for the man, I have every right to no longer show him any respect) get to feel like he is above the law? How does one vice-president decide his office is not part of the executive branch, and rather a “shadow” branch of the government? How does one president get to get away refusing to cooperate with the department of justice — which single-handedly should prove to everyone he is guilty — without losing the last 20% of Americans that actually are stupid enough to support him.
Oh yes, desperate times call for desperate measures, and for the life of me I cannot understand how a soul on this planet could possibly believe george w. bush is even a good man, let alone a good president.
I say impeach the piece of garbage.
I am so unbelievably ticked off right now, if you couldn’t tell.
I challenge anyone to tell me a good freakin’ reason why I’m wrong.
Lets start off with the worst… none other than the only person I’ve ever been able to say that I absolutely cannot stand, and borderline hate; the one and only Ann Coulter. All I can do, is hope and pray that the Conservatives I know and love in my life do NOT assosciate with this woman. It’s hard to tell, because she is hailed by the media as the “voice of the conservative right,” and that’s not by the liberal media either. This, is a video from her confrontation with Elizabeth Edwards on Hardball a couple days ago. This came after Coulter’s appearance on Good Morning America where she said about John Edwards “I wish he would have died in a terrorist assassination plot,” only a few months after her remark about him being a “fag.”
Secondly, let’s go with whats great in the news. Anchors standing up for the stupidity of over-covering silly celebrities and their silly lives. This, again from MSNBC, is nothing short of a thing of beauty.
We elect a Senate, and a Congress full of Democrats, and they still cannot find the courage to stand up to the American Dictator, George W. Bush.
Bush signed the Iraq blank check, spending supplemental, today. Basically, yet again we have given him six more months to do what he so chooses in this, the never-ending war of our — my generation. How is this happening?
You all should know by now that I am a Gore-groupie, so you may be taking this opinion with a grain of salt, but he is hitting the nail on the proverbial head in his book “The Assault on Reason.” I’m only about a quarter of the way through it thus far, but he says that the current state of American democracy is, in part, the way it is because of the emergence something called “the politics of fear.” This point was made fully yesterday during Bush’s press conference in the rose garden, when he repeatedly told reporters that the Iraq war is necessary, then telling them that “your children are in danger.”
You see this played out with McCain and Guilaini all the freakin’ time, saying things that can basically be boiled down to “vote democrat, and give in to the terrorists.” Just today, McCain said “…it is the equivalant to waving a white flag to Al Qaeda,” referring to Barack Obama, Chris Dodd, Dennis Kucinich, and Hillary Clinton’s nay votes towards the Iraq spending bill.
I honest-to-God wish that every democrat, across the nation would just adopt the simple brilliance… the immortal words of Popeye;
“That’s alls I can stands, and I can’t stands no more!”
Have I mentioned how sorry I am for voting for Bush in ‘04?
In September, we will have spent $456 billion dollars on the war in Iraq. Curious about what we could have done with that money? Check out this link to the Boston Globe.
Most astonishing/depressing/angering? We could have fed all of Earth’s poor, as well as provided schooling for five years with that much money. Let’s fight a war we can win, ending world poverty.
I freakin’ hate George W. Bush.
2008 cannot possibly get here fast enough. I don’t care how republican or conservative you are… a 28% job approval rating (Newsweek Poll) is cause for alarm. This guy, will go down in history as the worst. president. ever.
