…i know i’m late to this

9/11.

i wasn’t going to make a blog post about it. i figured everyone else and their mother would, and really… i don’t have much to say on the subject. it’s a deeply profound event in my life, that to be honest, i hold pretty close to the vest. i was working for a local residential/commercial alarm company at the time, and i was out driving in my company truck listening to some morning talk radio show out of detroit when it started. i immediately rushed home to turn on the television, and i watched the second plane hit, and the towers collapse on live television. to this day, i’m amazed at the fact that eventually, i actually went back into work that day.

anyways, as i said i wasn’t going to post about this. that was until i found a video from one of my comedic heroes, jon stewart. the video embedded below, is probably not what you expect. it is the very first time the daily show went on the air after 9/11, and i think jon about sums up for me how i feel about that day.

You know, I had never seen that before. What a powerful speech, it brought me to tears!
