…i’m not sure i’ve ever been more furious
January 23, 2008 – 5:33 pmignorance, is another one of my pet-peeves. i downright loathe ignorant people. the problem is multiplied when it’s ignorant christians.
this is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen. found on the collide blog, which found it through vh1’s “best week ever” blog, this is a press release sent out from a baptist church in topeka, kansas. read it at your own peril…

First - Great blog! I like the new theme. I use a BOB theme on one of my blogs.
Second - I could not agree more. With so much Christian bashing going on today, it really sucks to see folks acting this way in the name of Christ.
Finally! - Good luck with the weight loss goal. I’m also working to lose weight and blogging about it (among other things).

I saw this somewhere else online….it made me instantly mad. I don’t do well with ingnorant people either! I don’t even understand how someone would even think to do this, someone who is a Christian…

… but i’m with you on this one. check out sxephil’s youtube video on this. take care.

I’ve read quite a bit about the WBC. All they want is publicity.
The more people that get enraged over what they do, the more they get what they want.
Although this will probably never ever happen, I think the most effective way to fight them and their hatred is to ignore them. Completely. Pretend like they don’t exist. Because talking about them and blogging about them, even to disagree, gives them what they want.

I felt the same exact way. I could not believe what I was reading and had to write about it.
I’m beginning to this that Becky has a good point about this particular group. There’s no doubt they’re getting the attention they want, and maybe that’s all they really want.

Yeah, the only thing is that ignoring them will only work if everyone does it … secular media included.
Which will never happen.
So I guess it’s up to us to counter it with God’s grace and love.
