Completely Opinionated Review:
Like my visit to The Flying Bean, in the interest of fairness I should say that this is not my first visit to Georgette’s. About a year and a half ago I spent a decent amount of time here, and while I was always impressed with the coffee, at the time they did not offer any WiFi, let alone free, which is an immediate deal breaker. So when I first came up with the idea to visit some local coffee shops in search of a place to call my new “office,” I wasn’t planning on checking out Georgette’s again… I’m glad I changed my mind.
First, Georgette’s does now offer free WiFi. In addition, in the amenities department, all coffee is locally roasted, fair trade certified, and they always have at least one organic option brewing. Also, they do a lot to reduce their waste footprint, including recycling all possible waste, biodegradable containers, post-recycled coffee cups (to go), all spent coffee grounds are used in a local greenhouse, lights are off as much as possible to conserve energy, and did I mention all coffee is fair trade certified? And if all that wasn’t enough, Georgette’s also employees 15 individuals from it’s parent company, Sunshine Inc., an agency providing residential and related services to people with developmental disabilities in our region. If you have a heart at all, this place is a wonderful choice.
I was immediately greeted by a kind lady behind the counter, and I was pleased to see a relatively simple menu on which I quickly located my order. “House cup of coffee for here” I said, and was handed my first porcelain mug yet on my journey. The kind lady informed me that refills were free, and to let her know if any of the self-serve air pots were empty and they’d brew it again right quick.
The seating area is comfortable, but perhaps a bit small. Overall the volume level is a bit higher than normal (probably has to do with the classic tin plate ceiling), but really my only gripe is that Georgette’s closes at 3pm on weekdays. The early closing time will be difficult to work around for client meetings, but for day to day work it won’t be an issue.
Final Grade:
9/10 – An amazing heart behind amazing coffee makes for an amazing coffee shop. I love the commitment to making the world a better place through more than just a great tasting cup of coffee. The addition of free WiFi to the inexpensive coffee with the always enjoyed free refills makes Georgette’s a tough place to beat. If only they stayed open later.

YAY!!!! You finally got a real coffee cup. I was holding my breath until I got to it!! Bummer they close so early.
I love that they are FairTrade, Green Contiencous, composting and employ developmental disabilities!
Dude, this is like a good drama series for me since there's a 99% chance I'll not see Ohio in my near future…BUT…wanted to say….you make me thirsty!
haha ~ Josh I was just reading this post [it's near my office and have to admit, I've never been but totally appreciate this post :) ] anyway – I just got a pop up from Starbucks! HAHA

[I will have 150 minutes of 'free' time 2x a week!!] wooooho!
I like Georgette's too but don't make it down that way too often anymore. The ambiance is nice but the short hours are definitely hard to work around.
