not really sure why i’m blogging right now. i guess i felt obliged. sometimes i feel like i have to blog, i have to keep a schedule.
so i guess chalk this one up to an obligatory, throw-away post.
ryanne and i are serving dinner along with some members of my live video team down at the jesus leaves no child behind after-school program for under-privileged youth at the summit street ymca tomorrow. have i mentioned that i have the honor of leading some of the coolest servants i’ve ever known? i really can’t express how blessed i am to serve along with such amazing christ-followers… a year ago, heck six months ago, i would have never thought the live video team i lead would be doing so much outside the church walls, in addition to what we do on the weekend service.
also, in an effort to put more action into our lives, ryanne is getting involved with the food for thought program that our friend don (i spoke about him in a previous post about tent city) started. i don’t know if we’re doing it this week, but ryanne got her job to buy into letting her have two friday evenings/saturday mornings off per month to serve with them. basically, a group of people get together on friday nights to make a cubic butt-ton worth of packed brown bag lunches, and then on saturday morning they take them to the homeless and needy of downtown toledo.
i guess it would be an understatement to say that tent city really affected us.
