…some days are worse than others

Think you know embarrassment? You probably do, I don’t mean to belittle anyone… but listen to this little ditty:

I had to buy a new, heavier duty bathroom scale, because the current one we have has a weight limit of 330lbs. Yeah, you know you need to lose weight when your scale tells you “ERROR.” So, last week I ordered one from a medical website with a weight limit of 440lbs, figuring my last weigh in at the Doctors office in January ‘07, was a little over 400lbs. Well it arrived today, and I set it on the floor and got busy finding out the damage. What popped up?

Then it stopped working altogether. I noticed when I stepped on it something click beneath me. So I took it off the ground and inspected the bottom of it. It’s one of those glass scales with four rubber feet that connect it to the ground. Well those rubber pieces just pop-off, so I checked it out and there was one of the contacts under the rubber, completely broke off. Now to be fair, I don’t know if it was faulty construction, if I just stepped on it wrong, or what… but right now I’m so depressed about it I’m just sure that I’m ridiculously heavier than I anticipated. I freakin’ broke a scale with a limit of 440lbs!

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!

Now that I’m so pissed off about the whole thing, I am also impatient. Sure, I’m going to an appointment at the Center for Weight Loss in BG this Friday, and I’m positive they’ll weigh me there, but I just have to know… RIGHT NOW. So tomorrow, I’m going to my dad’s work (he’s a truck driver… see where this is going??) to weigh myself on one of their industrial freight scales.

Seriously, I’m giving thought to eating salad three meals a day right now.

I read your post on Craig’s blog and will be praying for you! Blogging was the ONLY way I could lose weight (so it seemed) so I kept track of my weight loss online too. Proud to say I made it, but it was the encouraging notes and knowing how difficult it was posting the numbers that were not healthy for me up…it feels great to post the healthy numbers now. Good for you!!! Woohoo!

I’m on the “DELTA” diet. Never heard of it? Me neither, I made it up when I couldn’t fit in the Delta Airlines seat. It was humilating!!! I’m a 267 and planning on losing 100.
    YANA!!!
