…toilets and photography
I see my wife again in exactly fifty hours.
As you would expect of any husband who has been living without his wife for the last two weeks, that means I have spent a good portion of time today, and a good portion of time yet; cleaning. Yes, that’s right, I get to spend my birthday cleaning the bathroom… I love it. For the record though, my parents are taking me out to dinner and a movie, so that should be good, and a welcome break from cleaning up after myself.
I’ve been thinking about Ryanne a lot lately, I guess you’d expect that not having seen here in a couple weeks. I was remembering a time back when I worked at Rumpf Ambulance;
My partner Rob and I had a busy day. We were on runs for most of the day, which was quite out of the ordinary for that job. Ryanne and I had just been dating for a few weeks at this time. Things had finally started slowing down at work, so Ryanne came out to our quarters to hang out. She brought with her some presents for me, a CD, a little teddy bear, and dinner. I remember thinking how awesome she was at the time, but I only got to think that for a few minutes because about five minutes after Ryanne showed up, we got sent out on another run. So she left, and Rob and I went on our run. An hour or so later, Rob and I get back to quarters and I find a little note that Ryanne had left me, and in it she referred to me as her “rescue hero,” as I was an EMT. That made me smile… even though what I did was so far apart from being a real hero. Anyway… I called her to say thanks for everything, and then say goodnight, but she said over the phone that she would come back and hang out with me again. I think I knew right then and there I was going to spend the rest of my life with this woman.
/end sappy story
Well it looks like I’m going to have enough money (depending on job situations of course) to buy myself a nice dSLR within a month or so. I’m having a big problem now though, trying to decide between the Nikon D80 and the new Sony Alpha. Any photographers out there want to put their two cents in? Nearly every review I have read has the cameras rated identical, and the biggest difference coming in the form of lenses for the D80 (better and cheaper than the Sony’s), but the Sony has built in SuperSteadyShot, as well as a dust-free sensor.
HELP!
As a former pro photographer… get the nikon… I have had to deal with customer care with both Nikon and sony… and even though my dslr body was out of warranty, it was a known issue and they replaced it no questions asked anyways… that was service… and there is so much more available and support for them than sony…
