totally stealing this from adam.
i have nearly an entire months worth of music in my itunes (if played song-to-song without stopping or hitting a repeat). most of it, i am happy to listen to at any given time. but these top five songs are reserved for when it’s just me in the car or with the earbuds in, as i really don’t want people to see me jamming to it…
5. disturbed - prayer
now i know, at first glance a lot of people look at this and think “what’s wrong with that?” you have to understand that these guys really aren’t my “style.” it’s just sometimes, i really want to hear some angry music, and this song really does it for me.
4. phil collins - against all odds
sappy story aside, this song has always had a special meaning for me. i swear whenever i hear this on nighttime radio, windows go up, radio gets turned loud, and i’m singing at the top of my lungs!
3. real mccoy - run away
besides the fact that this brings back some tremendous memories of spending my summer in hawaii before freshman year of high school with my best friend, who can deny the cool talking dude’s voice?!
2. rent soundtrack - i’ll cover you (reprise)
i hated musicals… until my wife introduced me to rent. this song gets me every time. every time i hear it i get a little emotional.
1. rihanna - umbrella
seriously. do i need to explain how great this song is? the video is exceptional, the production is incredible, and the mandy moore cover is almost as good as the original.

that rihanna song is good.
disturbed on the other hand is awful. no excuses.
i on the other hand like ace of base. and country. and 2pac.
that’s quite a variety of songs, including a few I had not heard of. Maybe you should make a YouTube video of yourself singing “Umbrella”, it’s sure to be a hit.
Ok Matt. I don’t know anything about the song by disturbed on this list, but how can 2pac be any better? His music is also awful.
matt just got told…
Anything by ABBA.
