…well that was different

April 10, 2008 – 1:20 am

in the interest of full-disclosure, for the 1% of you that visit this site and don’t know it, i work for a non-denominational christian church. i am a bible-believing follower of jesus.

so, when american idol ended it’s “idol gives back” show tonight with a worship song called “shout to the lord,” i was more than a little surprised. shocked, would be a better word.

it’s not that i don’t appreciate it, i actually thought it was a really great song to end the evening. david cook stole the song, even though carly fought hard for it… it was david cook who came through as the star of it. but that’s not the point. the point is; i’m curious who’s idea that was, and why? it just seems like a strange choice from a secular stand point. and, the inter-webs are already blowing up from the anti-christian’s bashing idol for the choice. which, by the way… i find highly entertaining.

here is the video if you missed it:

so, what do you think?

  2. It was such a train wreck.

Why did they do it? Because this year’s winner is going to be marketed to CCM.
