…what a disappointment

We elect a Senate, and a Congress full of Democrats, and they still cannot find the courage to stand up to the American Dictator, George W. Bush.

Bush signed the Iraq blank check, spending supplemental, today. Basically, yet again we have given him six more months to do what he so chooses in this, the never-ending war of our — my generation. How is this happening?

You all should know by now that I am a Gore-groupie, so you may be taking this opinion with a grain of salt, but he is hitting the nail on the proverbial head in his book “The Assault on Reason.” I’m only about a quarter of the way through it thus far, but he says that the current state of American democracy is, in part, the way it is because of the emergence something called “the politics of fear.” This point was made fully yesterday during Bush’s press conference in the rose garden, when he repeatedly told reporters that the Iraq war is necessary, then telling them that “your children are in danger.

You see this played out with McCain and Guilaini all the freakin’ time, saying things that can basically be boiled down to “vote democrat, and give in to the terrorists.” Just today, McCain said “…it is the equivalant to waving a white flag to Al Qaeda,” referring to Barack Obama, Chris Dodd, Dennis Kucinich, and Hillary Clinton’s nay votes towards the Iraq spending bill.

I honest-to-God wish that every democrat, across the nation would just adopt the simple brilliance… the immortal words of Popeye;

“That’s alls I can stands, and I can’t stands no more!”
