…what’s next?

god created me to be a creature of change. this simple fact has caused countless annoyances for my wife, and family i’m sure. i never seem to be comfortable for long, and usually sooner rather than later i begin saying dangerous things like “i’m ready for a shake-up” or “i want something big to change in my life.” a few times, this has led to pretty difficult times!

unfortunately for those around me, i’m starting to feel that itch again. i never know what it is, but i hate feeling stagnant and not moving forwards. right now, i feel pretty stationary, and it’s driving me crazy. i’m not really sure what to do about it, i never am. it’s pretty annoying, really.

i have a desktop wallpaper on my laptop made by the talented brad ruggles, with one of my favorite quotes of all time on it. i look at it every day, and wonder how close to death i am…

“what is the difference between a living thing and a dead thing? in the medical world, a clinical definition of death is a body that doesn’t change. change is life. stagnation is death. if you don’t change, you die. it’s that simple. it’s that scary.” – leonard sweet, soul tsunami
