 Her poor fingers! 1,100 sprays later... and a puddle of fake butter liquid... the mystery has been solved. :-P

Thanks for the info Pete. I'll be sure to add those sprays into my calculations from now on. While it sounds like nothing to say 1 calorie per spray... it's not uncommon to use 5-10 on a biscuit or roll... those add up quick.

Butter Spray:

Even though it says Zero calories there are approx 1100 calories/sprays per bottle (Jillian actually counted the number of sprays in a bottle). Also look at the tub version to see that it does have calories and salt. 1 calorie and 1 mg of sodium per spray.

Joshua,

I got turned on to your blog from your prayer request on LifeChurch's swerve blog.

Love what you doing. Food and Weight Loss are two favorite subjects of mine.

Popcorn is one of my favorite subjects as well. Why?

Because you don't need to buy microwave popcorn anymore.

====
Homemade Microwavable Popcorn
Plain disposable brown paper lunchbag
1/4 cp popcorn kernels
1/4 tsp salt (this might be adjusted to taste)
Stapler with staples
Oil spray
Popcorn/Pickling Salt (or you can take Kosher Salt and pulse it 10 times in a food processor)

Put kernels into the bag. Spray some oil into the bag (not too much... like one or two sprays). Salt into the bag and shake it around to get the salt, oil and kernels to mix together.

Lay the bag flat with the kernels in the middle of the bag (and not at the bottom flap) and press the air out to make it as flat as possible. Fold the open end twice over about 1/2 inch folds. Staple the both sides of the flap making sure the staple is is within the flap but keeping the staples as far apart as possible and not exposed to the outisde. (If the staple never touch
each other, close to each other or the walls of the microwave, you are good 2 go.)

Microwave on high until the popping slows down (1 full second between pops is plenty). I am not going to tell you how much time because I don't want you have burnt popcorn and/or bag to be set on fire. You gotta babysit it.

Anyways, now you have a bag full of popcorn. Instead of having some corporation telling you how much butter (if it is real butter which it usually isn't) to put on your popcorn. I just melt a tbsp or two in the microwave, drizzle on top, mix and enjoy.

I tend to stop using butter when I started using tabasco or jalopeno oil as flavouring. But don't skip out the salt. Just a little bit will do.

Popcorn is great, isn't it? I think I could totally live off of it if I had to. It's a great thing to cure the munchies. :-P

Thanks for stopping by Shari! I hope you keep coming back to check it out.

It's interesting, now that I've been blogging this for a few weeks now, I realize that it was probably the best decision I could make. The encouragement that comes with it, the accountability that comes with it, and not to mention I think it'll be cool to look back a few years from now and watch the journey progress.

I would definitely advise anyone and everyone to record their journey in some fashion!

Anyway, good luck to you, I know you can do it! If I can, anyone can!

HI, Just have a moment for a quick hello. thanks for the blog. My husband and i are also on the quest for major weight loss. I haven't had the courage to blog about it, other than to create the blog "waist management". Found your site on Anne Jacksons blog. Later, Shari

Oooooh, I loves me some "butter spray"...

Though it says "0 calories" on mine... and it contains absolutely nothing.... other than a bit of salt... yet it tastes like butter... BRILLIANT!

That... and a transition to PAM cooking spray instead of using butter for greasing a frying pan.
